THE POWER OF CHRIST'S CRUCIFIXION

Why did Jesus Die on the Cross for Us?

I love the verse John 3:16 KJV, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. I am so thankful today that I'm not part of the crowd that perishes but a part of the crowd that believes unto the saving of the soul.

You know, it means something to believe the Lord. There's a lot of people that believe but not all believe to the saving of the soul. Even the devil believed and trembled but he didn't believe to the saving of the soul. It's important to know God's Word and to be obedient to the things that Jesus Christ put in his book.

John 14:15 KJV He said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments". In Acts 2:38 KJV "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost".

I love that Holy Ghost. I love God's Spirit. I love feeling it. I love what it teaches. It says that Holy Ghost will teach us in all things, and if you don't know the Lord today as your Saviour, you can know him… and come to him. It's amazing what he can teach you through that great Holy Ghost.

I want to speak of those that parish. I want to talk about what Apostle Paul did in his ministry in 1 Corinthians 2:1 reading down. Apostle Paul, he never wanted to try to pull any attention to himself. After he got converted to God, everything that he did was to follow the way that Jesus Christ had taught. You see, from most of the things that we hear about Jesus Christ and his teachings were done in three and a half years. Jesus pointed all of the glory and honor to God. He didn't want anybody to look upon himself as he was anything. Everything went to God and that's the way Apostle Paul was. He didn't want any glory for himself. He wanted God to get all the honor and glory for what he was teaching the people.

So, I want to go to 1 Corinthians 2:1 reading down, and it reads like this, “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God". Why do we preach the gospel?

Jesus sent the Apostle's out to preach the gospel. When they had done that, Herod had heard about that. The gospel they preached, Jesus had given them authority to be able to cast out devils…to be able to heal the sick…to be able to deliver diseases…these are all the things that Jesus had given them authority to do, and to go preach the gospel. That's what we do here on the air. I can tell you fairy tales all day long…it’s not going to do you a bit of good. What I want to tell you are things that are edifying to you…things that would cause you to want to live for Jesus Christ. I want to give you an excitement.

I'm not telling you to do anything that I don't do myself. I try my best to live for God and to live according to his spirit and not to the flesh. In 1 John 2:16 "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever".

Hear what Paul was preaching about. He was talking about giving glory to Jesus Christ into the cross of Calvary.
