Hope in JESUS : Anchor of the Soul

An image of an Anchor, the word Hope and Stars.

Hebrews 6:19 KJV

19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

Our Hope in Eternal Life

God sent his son to be our Saviour, and that is where our hope in eternal life is.  He gave his life for us to have salvation, deliverance, peace and joy.  I want to live forever with God giving him praise, glory and honor.  I hope you do, too.  I pray that you want to know God and his son Jesus.  And, I pray that you want to have peace forever.

Some may ask..."Why do I feel hopeless?  So many people are bound with things in this world which reminds me of a song that I used to hear years ago.  I will recite the verse: "Years of time have come & gone since I first heard it told, How Jesus would come again someday"...Many people believe that it's not going to happen and that is the reason why so many folks don't have hope.  The signs of the time show us that it is happening.  They are living in today instead of living in tomorrow that God has for us.  Paul's hope was in eternal life.

Jeremiah 17:5 KJV...he talked to us about hope.  A lot of people have hope in their own things.  They have hope in what man can do for them.  Many people have hope that somebody will help them with a great job or hope that man will help them to overcome any kind of trials they have such as, monetary needs or perhaps even for the healing of the body.

God's Word tells us about hope: how our hope should be and what our hope should be.             5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man,...that don't sound too pleasant to me.  Who do you put your hope in today?  Is it your boss...is it the President...is it some other country's leader?  What is it that you put your hope in?  Our hope should not be in man and what man can do or what man has to offer.  5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

Wow...where your heart is there your treasure is...there your heart be also.  If your heart is in God then you are putting all of your life into him.  If your heart is in man and what man has, you're giving him your life...you're giving him what you are doing.  Examine yourself.  See what you're doing.  See if you're really living for Jesus Christ.  See if you're living for man and what man can do for you or what you can obtain in this world.  If we really have our heart, our life and our hope in God then whatever we need to be there is just in asking the Lord.  You have to ask him but there's a key to that.

If you ask God for something, you have to follow his commandments to receive it.  You can't just say, "Well I'm going to accept the Lord and Jesus Christ as the Saviour...I accept that he's the Son of God, and believe everything is going to be hunky-dory.  God's Word tells us that we have to follow his commandments.

Jeremiah 17:6 KJV For he shall be like the heath in the desert,...that's not a good place...that's a land of well, somewhat an uncultured area.  6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.  That's not the kind of person I want to be.  I don't want to be one who trusts in man and what man can do for me.

Here's what I want... Jeremiah 17:7 KJV, Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

~Consider what we say, and the Lord will give you understanding in all things.
